“Young Reid” a.k.a Reid Swann is a rising star. Born in Pasadena, CA, but raised in Winston Salem, NC, this 16-year-old Young Mogul is working on solidifying a top spot in the music game. Gaining his start from busting rhymes and beats in the cafeteria as a hobby, he quickly received recognition from his friends and family on his unique musical talents.  Inspired by popular musicians such as: Kid Ink, Big Sean, J. Cole, and Chance the Rapper,  Reid defines himself as an R&B rapper with a sound that is reminiscent of DJ Mustard, and Atlanta’s very own Travis Porter. After teaching himself how to use a recording set that was gifted to him by his parents, he self-produced his debut mixtape titled “Reid Between the Lines(2016),”which has over 3,000 streams on SoundCloud, and has since released his sophomore mixtape titled “Never Felt This Way Before (2016),” which has accumulated 3,600 streams and features his very popular track, “Clap Clap“.

Young Reid has been a part of Jermaine Dupri’s SoSoSummer 17′ Tour in Charlotte, NC, he has been featured on Queen Lo, Desert Storm Radio, Streetz 103.3, Power 98, and Johneri’O Scott.

I had the opportunity to chop it up with Young Reid about his music, life, and everything in between. Take a listen below:
